Ross Erath was born on January 23rd, 1917 in Bowie Co, Texas, USA. Ross Erath's father was Ross Erath Akin and his mother was Sarah Rebecca Shipp. His paternal grandparents were George W Akin and Sarah St John. He had two brothers and five sisters, named James Lawson, Herman Pershing, Beedie Ray, Opal Cleo, Mary Coletta, Dorothy Nell and Sarah Rebecca. He was the fourth youngest of the eight children. He died at the age of 45 on April 10th, 1962.-
