Theophylaktos was born in 0843 in Lakape, Armenia.1   Theophylaktos' father was Nikephoros Prokas and his mother was Maliene Maleines.  His maternal grandparents were Eudokios Maleinos and Anastaso Adralestina. He had three brothers and a sister, named Bardas, Nicephorus, Leo and Sophia.  He died at the age of 28 in 0871 in Y, Somme, Picardie, France.1
