William Montacute

William was born in Shepton Montague, Wincanton, Somerset, England.¹ William's father was William Montacute and his mother was <Unknown>. His paternal grandparents were William Montacute and Isabel. He was an only child. He died on September 23rd, 1270.¹

General Notes
- William de Montacute, who had summons to attend the king into Gascony against Alphonso X, King of Castile, who had usurped that province. The 41st of Henry III, 1257, he was summoned to be with the king at Chester on the feast day of St. Peter ad vincula, well furnished with horse and arms, thence to march against Llewellyn ap Griffith, Prince of Wales.
