Martha was born on January 20th, 1846 in Carroll Co, TN.1   Martha's father was Mark William Roberts Jr. and her mother was Sylvia Roberts.  Her paternal grandparents were Mark William Roberts and Lucretia Christina Parish; her maternal grandparents were James T. Roberts and Rebecca Jones. She had four brothers and four sisters, named William, Monroe, Simeon W., Noah, Louisa, Cornelia, Rebecca and Sarah.  She was the second youngest of the nine children. She had a half-brother and three half-sisters, named Marcus Franklin, Elizabeth, Nancy and Mary M..  She died  due to Chronic Nephritis at the age of 76 on March 20th, 1922 in Carroll Co, TN.1
