William Lathan was born on October 28th, 1895 in Carroll Co, TN.  William Lathan's father was William Lafayette Morris and his mother was Martha Elizabeth Parish.  His maternal grandparents were George Washington Parish and Mary Elizabeth Wallace. He had three brothers and six sisters, named Arthur Harvey, Neil Columbus, Arving Edwin, Georgia, Lida Mai, Ollie Elizabeth, Nellie Oleen, Martha Opal and Mary Lee.  He was the fourth youngest of the ten children.  He died at the age of 78 on January 26th, 1974 in Shelby, Bolivar Co, MS.
