William E. was born on April 15th, 1832 in Carroll Co, TN.1   William E.'s father was Benjamin Wesson Hall and his mother was Temperance Parish.  His maternal grandparents were John Sihon Parish and Celia Roberts. He had three brothers and five sisters, named David W., Benjamin Wesson, Green Gustavus, Elizabeth W., Martha Jane, Nancy C., Sophia Ann and Mary Emily.  He was the second oldest of the nine children.  He died at the age of 15 in 1847 in Carroll Co, TN.2
