James Gray Cary

James Gray was born on February 23rd, 1913 in Carroll Co, TN.¹ James Gray's father was James Benjamin Cary and his mother was Eliza Ann Kirksey. His paternal grandparents were William W. Cary and Sarah Martha Georgia Ann Johnson. He had seven brothers and five sisters, named William Roland, Marvin Esker, Sidney Cass, David Lige, Elmer Charles, Albert Lyde, Felix Graden, Ludie May, Hattie, Pearlie Ester, Clevie and Mattie C.. He was the youngest of the thirteen children. He died at the age of 41 on May 18th, 1954 in Carroll Co, TN. He was buried on May 20th, 1954 in New Hope Cemetery, Yuma, Carroll Co, TN.¹¹
