Nola Ellis was born on November 21st, 1899 in Doyle, White Co, TN.  Nola Ellis' father was James Pleasant Adair and her mother was Mary Dora Simmons.  Her paternal grandparents were Pleasant E. Adair and Nancy Jane Simmons; her maternal grandparents were Andrew Jackson 'Jack' Simmons and Canzantia A. 'Canzada' Stipe. She had a brother and three sisters, named Louis William, Lillie Mae, Maggie Katherine and Beulah.  She was the youngest of the five children. She had five half-brothers and six half-sisters, named Russell Pleasant, James Pleasant, Roy Lester, Billy, Charles Herbert, Vina Lee, Maude Lela, Leffie Mae, Ethel Katherine, Mattie Lee and Mary Ella.  She died at the age of 85 on August 25th, 1985.
