Lillie Mae was born on August 29th, 1889 in Doyle, White Co, TN.  Lillie Mae's father was James Pleasant Adair and her mother was Mary Dora Simmons.  Her paternal grandparents were Pleasant E. Adair and Nancy Jane Simmons; her maternal grandparents were Andrew Jackson 'Jack' Simmons and Canzantia A. 'Canzada' Stipe. She had a brother and three sisters, named Louis William, Maggie Katherine, Beulah and Nola Ellis.  She was the oldest of the five children. She had five half-brothers and six half-sisters, named Russell Pleasant, James Pleasant, Roy Lester, Billy, Charles Herbert, Vina Lee, Maude Lela, Leffie Mae, Ethel Katherine, Mattie Lee and Mary Ella.  She died  due to Cancer at the age of 62 on August 20th, 1952 in Knoxville, Knox Co, TN.  She was buried in New Gray Cemetery, Knoxville, Knox Co, TN.
