Ivar, known as Vidfame, was born in 0612 in Denmark.

Vidfame's father was Halfdan Haraldsson and his mother was Moalda (Digri) Kinriksdatter. His paternal grandparents were Harald Valdarsson and Hildur (Hildis, Hervor) Heidreksdottir. He was an only child. He died at the age of 35 in 0647.

- Note: He was king of Skane when Ingjald, The Wicked, was king of the Swedes at Uppsala. He had confronted King Ingjald which caused Ingjald to commit suicide by burning himself and others in his own hall.
