Mr. Harry Leon Waites, age 86, of Marietta, died Thursday, October 6,1994. Mr. Waites was a native of Atlanta, and retired from theAtlanta Joint Terminal after 50 years of service in 1973. He was amember of the Smyrna church of Christ. Surviving are his wife, Mrs.Era C. Waites, daughter-in-law, Mrs. William Waites, grandchildren,Elea Anne Waites Hammond of Marietta; Emily Jane Waites Smith ofAlpharetta, William Mathias Waites of Nashville, TN; John DobsonWaites of Dallas, TX; Benjamin Alston Waites of Madison, GA; eightgreat-grandchildren, sisters, Jackie Blanchard of Atlanta; Edith Brownof Decatur; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be heldSaturday, October 8, at 11:30 o'clock at Spring Hill with Mike Cagleofficiating. Interment Westview Cemetery. Serving as pallbearerswill be William Mathias Waites, John Dobson Waites, Benjamin AlstonWaites, Kevin Neil Hammond, Vestal DeWayne Smith, and Benjamin NeilHammond. In lieu of flowers, donations made be made to Georgia AGAPE,or the Christian Childrens' Home in Valdosta. The family will receivefriends Friday from 6 until 8 p.m. at Spring Hill H.M. Patterson andSon.
