Henry was born about 1408 in Bury Hatley, Bedfordshire, England.1   Henry's father was John Cokayne and his mother was Edith (Ida) De Grey. He had three brothers and two sisters, named Reginald, John, Thomas, Elizabeth and Margaret.  He was the second oldest of the six children.1
