Sargent Sanborn was born on March 15th, 1821 in Andover, Massachusetts. Sargent Sanborn's father was Sargent Straw and his mother is Priscilla Bennet Sanborn. His paternal grandparents were John Straw and Mary Molly Emerson. He has a brother and five sisters, named William H., Elvira, Mahala, Mary Elizabeth, Abigail Jane and Priscilla Elizabeth.
