Martha H. was born on November 27th, 1826 in Thornton, New Hampshire. Martha H.'s father was Jacob Sargent and her mother was Martha Webster. Her paternal grandparents were Jacob Sargent and Mary Pattee. She had eight brothers named Joseph Webster, John Rogers, Jacob Livermore, Roswell Chapman, James Battee, Belton Webster, Bradley Varnum and Andrew Jackson. She is the third youngest of the nine children.-
