Clara Lawrence was born on November 25th, 1846 in Sweden, Oxford County, Maine. She died at the age of 92 on January 14th, 1939 in 43 Cummings Ave, Quincy, Norfolk County, Massachusetts. She bought from Ashbel H. Cram of Portland for $300, land on
the south side of Waterford Flat at the northwest corner of
Caroline E. Brown's land, then southerly to the south end of
the garden, then west to the land of John Kimball, then north
to the road, then east back, together with all the door and
window blinds which were saved from the fire that consumed the
building "the Holt Stand." [This appears to have been
"Waterford House" in Waterford Flat.]
at 12:30 p.m., of a cerebral hemorrhage due to
arteriosclerosis,||There was no operation and no autopsy. The
attending physician was D. A. Bruce of Quincy, Massachusetts. The death
certificate showed her as the widow of Irving A. Colby. The
informant was Ina A. Colby, who was erroneously listed as her
sister.

Bernard A. Russell, of Quincy, Massachusetts was the undertaker
filed a petition for seperate support
‌Clara Lawrence and Irving A. J. were married in a religious ceremony on January 28th, 1873 in Boston, Suffolk County, Massachusetts. They had two sons and two daughters, named Child, Child, Irvena Adelaide and Claire Neal.

Clara Lawrence (Hale) Colby filed for seperate support. Their
real estate was decribed at this time as consisting of lots
numbered 9 and 11 as recorded with Middlesex South District
Deeds Book of Plans No. 75, Plan 40, and recorded in book 2318,
pages 521 and 525.
It was the first marriage for both bride and groom. They were
married by Rev. A. A. Miner.

Irvena Adelaide was born on October 22nd, 1873 in Charlestown, Boston, Suffolk County, Massachusetts. She died at the age of 81 in 1954.
Claire Neal Colby
Claire Neal was born on October 10th, 1880 in Boston, Suffolk County, Massachusetts. She died at the age of 35 on March 13th, 1916 in City Hospital, Quincy, Norfolk County, Massachusetts. She was buried on March 16th, 1916 in Mt Wollaston Cemetery, Quincy, Norfolk County, Massachusetts.
