Maud Matilda was born in 1074 in Huntingdon, Huntingdonshire, England.  Maud Matilda's father was Waltheof II and her mother was Judith of Lens.  Her paternal grandparents were Sigard Syward Bjornsson and Ælflaed (Elfleda) of Bernicia; her maternal grandfather was Lambert Count Of Lens and her maternal grandmother is Adbelahide De Normandie. She had a sister named Judith Alice of.  She was the older of the two children.  She died at the age of 57 in 1131 in Scotland.  She was buried in Scone Abbey, Perthshire.
