Elizabeth was born on September 16th, 1295 in Tewksbury, Gloucester, England and her baptism took place in (65-1360).  Elizabeth's father was Gilbert De Clare and her mother was Joan Plantagenet.  Her paternal grandparents were Richard De Clare and Maud De Lacy; her maternal grandparents were Edward Plantagenet and Eleanor Of Castile. She had a sister named Eleanore.  She was the younger of the two children. She had a half-brother and a half-sister, named Thomas and Marie.  She died at the age of 65 on November 4th, 1360 in St Mary's Ware, Hertfordshire, England.  She was buried after November 4th, 1360 in St Mary, Aldgate, London, Middlesex.
