Francois was born in 1329. Francois' father was Bertrand III Duc Des Baux and his mother was Marguerite D'Aulnay. His paternal grandparents were Bertrand II Duc Des Baux and Berengaria; his maternal grandparents were Vilain II D'Aulnay and Jeanne De Breyeres. He was an only child.
