Symmes Sawyer was born on November 7th, 1802 in Dunbarton, Merrimack County, New Hampshire. Symmes Sawyer's father was Samuel Colby and his mother is Sarah Partridge. His paternal grandparents were Thomas Colby and Susannah Colby. He had three brothers and two sisters, named Sargent, Thomas B., Samuel, Mary and Mary Partridge. He was the third oldest of the six children. He died at the age of 79 on September 18th, 1882.-
