John Colby 
John was born on July 5th, 1827 in Dunbarton, Merrimack County, New Hampshire. John's father was Symmes Sawyer Colby and his mother was Louisa Ordway. His paternal grandfather was Samuel Colby and his paternal grandmother is Sarah Partridge. He had three brothers and five sisters, named Lorenzo, Eli E., Syms, Susan, Eliza Jane, Mary, Clementine Augusta and Latitia. He was the third oldest of the nine children. He had a half-sister named Nellie A.. He died at the age of 33 in 1860.General Notes
