John was born about 1349 in Gloucestershire, England. John's father was John Chideock and his mother was Isabel Fitzpayn. His paternal grandparents were John Chideock and Lucy (Nmn-John 1280) Chideock; his maternal grandparents were Robert Fitzpayn and Ela Bryan. He was an only child.
