Louisa was born on January 16th, 1887 in Mansonville, Brome, Quebec, Canada.  Louisa's father was Byron Wesley Chappell and her mother was Alma Ellen Sargent.  Her paternal grandfather was Enos Bartlett Chappel and her paternal grandmother is Matilde Bowen; her maternal grandfather was George Stephen Sargent and her maternal grandmother is Mary McAllister. She had six brothers and three sisters, named Alfred Benjamin, Loren Calvin, Ernest Melvin, Edgar Byron, Verdine Varney, George Henry, Mary, Bernice A. and Bertha Mabel.  She was the fifth youngest of the ten children.  She died at the age of 85 on July 13th, 1972 in Mansonville, Brome, Quebec, Canada.


Louisa's family with Philias Hamelin

‌Louisa and Philias were married in a religious ceremony on February 8th, 1903 in Potton, Brome, Quebec, Canada.  They had five sons and four daughters, named Bernard, Ernest Eugene, Georges Elie, Laurent, Philias, Josephine Rosana, Agnes, Alice and Dorothy May.
