Amanda F was born in January 1908 in Hazelton, Emmons County, North Dakota.1 Amanda F's father was George Edward Bailey and her mother was Sarah M. Schoolir. Her paternal grandparents were Job Joseph Bailey and Philista Bailey; her maternal grandparents were Peter J Scoular and Rebecca Dodrill. She had four brothers and four sisters, named William Peter, Thomas R., Manford, George Edward, Minnie Isbelle, Florence R., Ida Jane and Delilah Margaret.
