Joseph was born on May 26th, 1651 in Farmington, Hartford Co., Connecticut and his baptism took place in 1655 in Farmington, Hartford County, Connecticut. Joseph's father was Thomas Barnes and his mother was Mary Andrews. His paternal grandparents were Thomas Barnes and Philippa Verdon; his maternal grandfather was Robert Andrews and his maternal grandmother is Grace. He had a brother named Ebenezer. He was the older of the two children. He died at the age of 89 on January 23rd, 1741 in Farmington, Hartford Co., Connecticut.-
