Edith Viola was born on February 16th, 1880 in Oakwood, Oakland County, MI. Edith Viola's father was James Gooding Adams and her mother was Ophelia F. Ball. Her paternal grandparents were Leonard Adams and Martha Morrill. She had three brothers and two sisters, named Lucius Edwin, Jr. Adams Gooding, Herbert James, Myrta Lenora and Harriet Augusta.
