Alexander was born in 1440 in Philorth, Aberdeenshire, Scotland. Alexander's father was Alexander Fraser and his mother was Marjory Menzies. His paternal grandparents were William Fraser and Eleanor DE Douglas; his maternal grandparents are Gilbert Menzies and Isobel Fraser. He was an only child. He died at the age of 40 in 1480.-
