Anna was born on March 13th, 1846 in Brooklyn, NY. Anna's father was Dennis Farren and her mother was Frances (Fannie) McCauley. Her paternal grandfather is Unknown Farren. She had three brothers and two sisters, named John H., William Augustine, Dennis, Mary and Frances. She was the second youngest of the six children.
