His paternal grandfather was Vermundo I De Cantabria and his paternal grandmother is Ursinda Munilona. He had a sister named Sancha. He was the younger of the two children. He had a half-brother and a half-sister, named Ordono I and Nuna. He died at the age of 40 in 0873 in Orviedo, Spain.
