Walter was born in 1230 in Connaught, Ireland. Walter's father was Richard De Burgh and his mother was Egidia Lacy. His paternal grandparents were William De Burgh and Mor O Brien; his maternal grandparents were Walter De Lacy and Margaret Braose. He was an only child. He died at the age of 41 on July 28th, 1271 in Castle, Galway, Ireland.-
