Nancy was born in 1813 in NC. Nancy's father was Shubal York and her mother was Mary Grimes. Her paternal grandparents were Semore York and Sylvania L Aldredge. She had a brother and a sister, named Isaac and Esther. She was the youngest of the three children. She had four half-brothers and three half-sisters, named William, Barnaby, Jones, Shubel Jr., Patsy, Betsy and Mary.-
