Andreas II was born in 1176 in Esztergom, Komarom-Esztergom, Hungary.  Andreas II's father was Bela III Von Ungarn and his mother was Agnes De Chatillon-sur-Loing.  His paternal grandparents were Geisa III Von Ungarn and Euprosyne Von Kiew; his maternal grandparents were Renaud De Chatillon-sur-Loing Furst and Constantia de Hauteville. He had three brothers and two sisters, named Emeric of, Istvan of, Salamon of, Margaretha and Konstancia of. He had a half-sister named Constantia of.  He died at the age of 59 in 1235.
