Thomas was born about 1430. Thomas' father was Andrew Kerr and his mother was Margaret Tweedie. His paternal grandfather was Robert Ker; his maternal grandfather was James Tweedie. He had seven brothers and a sister, named James, Andrew, Walter of Caverton, Thomas of Smailholm, Ralph, Robert, William of Yair and Margaret. He died in 1484.-
