Euphemia was born about 1249 in Barnard Castle, Gainford, Durham, England.  Euphemia's father was John I De Baliol and her mother was Devorgilla Galloway.  Her paternal grandparents were Hugh of Barnard Castle and Cecily de la Fontaine; her maternal grandparents were Alan of Galloway and Princess of Scotland. She had five brothers and five sisters, named Hugh, Alexander, Alan, William, John II, Cecily, Eleanor (Alianora), Mary, Margaret and Ada.  She died in Fearn, Ross & Cromarty, Scotland.
