Irene was born about 1160 in Constantinople, Turkey. Irene's father was Andronicus I Comnenus and her mother was Theodora Kalusine. Her paternal grandparents were Isaac Comnenus and Irene; her maternal grandfather was Isaakios Comnenus. She had a brother named Alexius. She died before 1185.-
