Ferdinand III "The Saint" of's father was Alfonso IX of Leon and his mother was Berenguela of Castile.  His maternal grandfather was Alfonso VIII of Castile.  He was an only child.  He died on May 30th, 1252.  He was buried in Cathedral of Seville, Spain.
