Annie was born about 1822 in Macon co, NC (1850 Census).  Annie's father was William Carpenter and her mother was Martha Margaret McConnell.  Her paternal grandparents were Phillip Carpenter and Martha Ann Rogers; her maternal grandparents were William Sr. McConnell and Rachel Adams. She had seven brothers and six sisters, named David, General Bolivar, Humphrey Posey, Henry, Jacob, Benjamin B., Andrew Jackson, Caroline, Avaline, Sarah, Matilda, Margaret E. and Amy.  She died on March 30th, 1903 in Macon County, NC.  She was buried in 1903 in Coweeta Baptist Church Cemetary, Otto, Macon Co, NC.

‌Annie and Ephraim D. were married in a religious ceremony on May 13th, 1841 in Macon County, NC.1   They had six sons and five daughters, named John Adams, Andrew Jackson, David H., Benjamin Franklin, Martin, William H., Margaret Elminy, Lizzie, Sarah Jane, Teletha Christine and Mary M..
