Joan of was born in 1272 in Akko (Acre), Hazafon, Israel.  Joan of's father was Edward I "Longshanks" Plantagenet of England and her mother was Eleanor of Castile.  Her paternal grandparents were Henry III of England and Eleanor of Provence; her maternal grandparents were Ferdinand III "The Saint" of Castile and Joan of Ponthieu. She had a brother named Edward II Plantagenet of.  She was the older of the two children. She had a half-brother named Edmund of.  She died at the age of 33 in 1305 in Clare, Suffolk, England.
