Johan was born on August 17th, 1844 in Bavaria,Germany.2 He died due to self inflicted gunshot wound at the age of 45 on July 29th, 1890 in Maspeth Ave. (in the vicinity of Newtown Creek,Brooklyn,Kings,NY. He was buried in Cyprus Hills National Cemetery.2 3
