Richard de Clare

Richard was born in 1162 in Tunbridge Castle,Kent. Richard's father was Earl Roger de Clare and his mother was Maud St Hilary. His paternal grandparents were Richard Fitzgilbert de Clare and Alice Adeliza Meschienes; his maternal grandfather was Baron James St Hilary and his maternal grandmother is Aveline. He had a brother and two sisters, named John, Mabel and Aveline. He was the second youngest of the four children. He had a half-brother named William. He died at the age of 55 on November 28th, 1217.
