Adela was born about 1092 in Savoie,France.  Adela's father was Count of Maurienne and Savoy, Marquis of Turin Humbert (The Fat, Le Renforce) Savoy II and her mother was Countess Gisela Burgundy.  Her paternal grandfather was Count of Savoy, Margrave of Susa Amadeus Savoy II and her paternal grandmother is Johanna(Joan) Geneva; her maternal grandparents were Count of Burgundy William(Guillaume) (The Great) Burgundy I and Coutness of Burgundy Stephanie Vienne. She had a brother and a sister, named Amadeus and Agnes.  She was the oldest of the three children.  She died on September 18th, 1154 in Paris,France.  She was buried in 1154 in Montmartre Abbey,Montmorte,France.

‌Adela and Louis were married in a religious ceremony in April 1114 in Paris,Seine,France.  They had five sons and a daughter, named Phillipe, The Younger, Henri, Robert, Pierre (Peter) and Constance.
