Fred W. was born in September 1888 in Van Zandt Co.,TX. Fred W.'s father was Nicholas Buchanan Riddle and his mother was Ninnie Rebecca Black. His paternal grandparents were Benjamin Preston Riddle and Mary Ann Bass; his maternal grandparents were Johnathan H. (John) Black and Mary Ann Jordan. He had four brothers and six sisters, and also a sibling of unknown gender, named John Preston, Charles H., Paul, Russell Elec, Mary Bertha, Lola Mattie, Pearl, Hulen (twin of Charles), Sarah Jane, Mattie and B.L.. He is the fifth oldest of the twelve children.-
