Countess of Holland Machteld *Holland

Machteld was born in 1057 in Vlaardingen,Zuid-Holland. Machteld's father was Count of Holland Floris Holland I and her mother was Countess of Holland Gertrude Saxony. Her maternal grandfather was Duke Bernard Saxony II and her maternal grandmother is Elica Schweinfurt. She had three brothers and two sisters, named Albrecht, Pieter, Dietrich, Adele and Bertha.
