Phillipe was born on August 29th, 1116. Phillipe's father was King of France Louis VI and his mother was Countess of Savoy, Queen of France Adela Savoy. His paternal grandparents were Phillip I and Bertha Holland; his maternal grandparents were Count of Maurienne and Savoy, Marquis of Turin Humbert (The Fat, Le Renforce) Savoy II and Countess Gisela Burgundy. He had four brothers and a sister, named The Younger, Henri, Robert, Pierre (Peter) and Constance. He is the oldest of the six children.-
