James was born about 1508 in Cole Orton,Leicestershire,England.1 James' father was William Beaumont and his mother is Mary *Basset. His paternal grandparents are George *Beaumont and Joan *Pauncefort; his maternal grandfather is William *Basset. He has seven brothers and two sisters, named Richard, George, John, William, Edward, Simon, Anthony, Cecily and Katherine. He is the fifth oldest of the ten children.
