Gilbert Basset 
Gilbert was born about 1090 in Wellingford,Oxford,England. Gilbert's father was Lord of Colston Ralph Basset and his mother is Alice de Buci. His paternal grandfather is Thurstan (The Norman) *Basset; his maternal grandfather is Robert de Buci. He had six brothers named Thomas, Richard, Osmund, Thurstan, William and Nicholas. He died in 1167.
Gilbert and Edith were married in a religious ceremony in 1113 in Hook Norton,Oxfordshire,England. They had two sons and a daughter, named John, Thomas and Joan.
