Nicolas was born on May 15th, 1824 in Katowice, Katowickiego, Poland.1 Nicolas' father was George Anton Knosalla and his mother was Monika Skoropa. His paternal grandparents were Nicolas Knosalla and Karolina Seidler. He had five brothers and five sisters, named Joseph, Friedrich, Rolf Karl, Heinrich Franz, Karl Joseph, Natascha, Maria Josepha, Franziska, Karolina and Maria Josefa. He was the second oldest of the eleven children. He died at the age of 75 on September 18th, 1899 in Katowice, Warschawa, , Poland.-
