Thomas was born about 1506 in Shefford, Berkshire, England. Thomas' father was John Fettiplace and his mother was Dorothy Danvers. His paternal grandparents were Richard Fettiplace and Elizabeth Bessiles; his maternal grandparents were John Danvers and Ann Stradling.
