Edward was born on June 8th, 1745 in Dedham, Norfolk, Massachusetts, USA.  Edward's father was Benoni Fairbanks and his mother is Johannah Lyon. He has seven brothers and five sisters, named ?Abijah, David, Moses, Jonathan, Aaron, Ebenezer, Oliver, Hannah, Mary, Sarah, Abigail and Experience.  He is the sixth youngest of the thirteen children.
