His paternal grandparents were Robert Crossman and Sarah Kingsbury; his maternal grandparents are James Bell and Esther Lugg. He had two sisters named Elizabeth and Mary. He was the second oldest of the three children. He had seven half-brothers and a half-sister, named Joseph, Samuel, Robert, Barnabus, Gabriel, Phinehas, Theophilus and Sarah. He died at the age of 70 on January 24th, 1765 in Raynham, , Massachusetts, USA.-
