Francis Austin 
Francis was born about 1807. Francis' father was Nathaniel Austin and his mother was Anna Merritt. His paternal grandparents were Nathaniel Austin and Abigail Richmond. He had five brothers named Edmund, Nathaniel, Dan "Old Black Dan", UNKNOWN and Josiah. He is the youngest of the six children.General Notes

Francis was in Shoreham per the 1830 census and on the same page as Edmund. Francis's household consisted of a male between 20 and 30 and a female between 20 and 30. Likely, Francis, was Edmund's brother. Francis did not show up on the 1840 census and had probably moved away by that time. He is close to the Thomas Merritt household. Merritt's daughter Betsy, married a Francis Austin, born in 1837, son of this Francis?
